Sunday night’s Full Moon will be a luminous peak to The Holiday Season. Bright and full, the Moon reflects as much sunlight as possible, illuminating the night sky and our emotions. We are given yet another opportunity for review, renewal, redirection-of-course, and to celebrate with loved ones.

Intense would well describe the last few months. Pluto in Capricorn is like tilling the soil so we can plant a new crop for a new growing season. Pluto will dig up deeply buried things, whether we want them dug up or not. At this time the Universe is telling us that we are meant to finally see what we have not wanted to see, and that we are meant to take action for improvement. Capricorn gives us the energy to lay new foundations for rebuilding, restructuring and simply starting over again.
Why is she talking about Pluto, you might ask?? At some point since he first moved into Capricorn back in January 2008, we have had (or yet still will have) some difficult times thanks to our friend-of-regeneration. Depending on your natal chart this will affect everyone in a different way and at different times during his sojourn (until November 2024). But, in the last few months, each of the personal planets (Mercury, Venus & Mars) have come conjunct with Pluto, and Saturday January 3rd, the Sun will also be exactly conjunct with Pluto. This means a lot of energy has been intensified and a lot of personal stuff has been brought up for review.
At the time of the Full Moon, Uranus and the North Node join the party to form a Cardinal Cross in the sky. Uranus, currently at 12’39 Aries, is still playing the square game with Pluto (thankfully to move on as this year progresses). While the North Node brings in the fourth cardinal sign currently at 14’40 Libra. This is a power-play and it’s directing us to see and make our move. Square aspects do not play a neutral role, we are urged to make a decision, take action, face one direction and leave another behind. A Cardinal Cross brings in square & opposition aspects, in each of the four cardinal signs (all the signs of action and forward movement). Check all of these positions against your natal chart to see where this energy is drawing your attention. The Moon in Cancer will move out of this alignment first, let us be cautious of our own emotional state, and seek grounding in the Sun in Capricorn.
In addition to The Holidays, and shifting into a new year, this could have been a difficult time for many people. Necessary as the sands of time continue, thus too our evolution must continue. Growth is not always painless. PLEASE cherish those moments of epiphany and instant transformation when they come. And remember to have patience with yourself and others the rest of the time.
Do not fret, my friends! We are at the down-swing of this intensity as the personal planets have already been gliding onward. And this Full Moon energy is actually a harmonious time, for Capricorn is structure & building energy and Cancer is life-giving & growing energy. A prefect combination for beginning a new year.
May we utilize this energy to bond with our loved ones. May we utilize this energy to look to our new goals. May we embrace patience and humility for ourselves and others as we all grow onward.
