Full Moon – October 2014

Full Moon – October 2014

PDT – Los Angeles, CA:  Wednesday (Mercury day) October 8, 3:51 am

EDT – NYC:  Wednesday (Mercury day) October 8, 6:51 am

Sun:  15’05 Libra  /  Moon:  15’05 Aries

This month is power-packed to be sure!  And the Full Moon will be dynamic.

Mercury will retrograde (in Los Angeles, PDT) on October 4 at 10:02am – 02’18 Scorpio.  Retracing the sky until October 25 at 12:17pm – 16’46 Libra.

Be careful in all communications.  Analyze within before speaking or acting.  Make sure you clearly know what you want and how you are communicating that.  Not the time for electronic repairs or purchases.  Definitely the time to reflect, review, reset, rejuvenate and call an old friend to get back in touch.

Mercury was in this same part of the sky from September 14th around 2:30am (in Los Angeles, PDT) until it stationed on October 4th.  Things that happened during this time might come back as unresolved for further review and finalization.  Be careful not to push these things away, but accept situations and move through them with thoroughness and respect.

As listed above the Full Moon is October 8th at 3:51am.  This will also be a lunar eclipse, and a Tetrad Blood Moon.  I’ll skip the explanation, but here is a great resource.  Eclipses amp up the energy in an already powerful situation.  Eclipses will also (not-so-gently) push you along if you have been holding back or hesitating.  This Full Moon / Lunar Eclipse will involve even more intense emotions than regular Full Moons do anyway.  Later this month, the New Moon / Solar Eclipse will have you looking at the control of your emotions.  So, this month will bring much growth potential (or as is the nature of eclipses, it’ll bring growth and the potential part of it is if you go willingly or fighting).

Surrounding the event a few days before and after we might have ideas, conversations or situations regarding the following:

Partnership / Coupling  vs  Being alone

Desire to Share / Partner  vs  Feeling like you must do things for yourself

Joining groups  vs  Leading a group

Equality / Balance  vs  Selfish Motives

Level-headedness  vs  Aggressive drives

Judgment / Over-Thinking / Indecision  vs  Expecting others at their best / Action / Knowing / Trusting gut feeling

With the Moon in aggressive Aries, we could have fiery, snappy tempers, but also steamy, passionate romances.  With the Sun in cool Libra, we could have balanced interactions, but also delays due to weighing too many options or information.

The Moon at 15’05 Aries will also be closely conjunct Uranus at 14’29Rx Aries.  This could add to the unexpected, emotional energy and bring unexpected fiery results.  A close Trine will add fire energy with Jupiter at 17’10 Leo and Mars at 16’57 Sagittarius.  This brings in an element of passion, drive and adventure.  Be careful not to get burned if you are too sensitive or in a new situation where you don’t know your surroundings and might not yet be fully grounded.  A fire-sign person always knows what to do and how to respond, if you don’t relate with this energy, keep cool, and “don’t play with fire”… until you have enough information that is, then enjoy it because it’s exciting energy.

The Sun at 15’05 Libra is the mid-point between Venus at 10’43 Libra and the North Node / Rahu at 19’14 Libra.  This energy is being tightly focused right back at the fiery, impulsive, unpredictable energy from the Moon & Uranus.  It should bring in balance and harmony, and focus it like a magnifying glass right at the reflection from the Moon & Uranus. (I can envision a tennis match, back and forth, both sides powerful to win!  The crowd with fixed gaze and rapt attention anticipating the outcome.)

The energy everywhere on Earth surrounding this time is just… intense!  Look up the chart for your location and see what’s going on in your current surroundings.  Look up the chart compared to your natal placements and see how this interacts for you on a personal level.  Much is being stirred up.

New Moon / Solar Eclipse:

PDT – Los Angeles, CA:  Thursday (Jupiter day) October 23, 2:57 pm

EDT – NYC:  Thursday (Jupiter day) October 23, 5:57 pm

Sun:  00’25 Scorpio  /  Moon:  00’25 Scorpio

The last eclipse for this year.  We move forward toward the close of the Western calendar year, the beginning of the Jewish religious calendar year, and moving into the “holiday season” for many cultures.  New Moons are always about renewal, planting seeds like spring-time, and rejuvenation.  Scorpio welcoming in the Sun and the Moon together at this time is a beautiful coincidence.  We will have the opportunity to explore the depths of our soul, that may have been uncovered earlier in the month (or the year, not forget eclipse’s energy can stretch for 6 months and the events in April and surrounding could come back again as well).  We will have the helpful energy of Scorpio’s controlled emotions to truly see ourselves, and this energy also aids us in making rational, smart decisions about moving forward.

Venus is right here too with a tight conjunction at 00’03 Scorpio.  She brings in love, beauty and harmony.  Scorpio energy is also known for the controlling and manipulating of others; however, I don’t see this as prevalent energy at this time, because of the other energies being stirred up — this is much more about seeing ourselves and how we interact with others and making healthy improvements.  If you feel yourself being selfish (Aries) or manipulative (Scorpio), take the higher vibration of those signs and choose leadership (Aries) and compassion (Scorpio).

A lot of things will come up for everyone, and likely in many aspects of life.  Much progress, sorting and shifting is being thrust at us.  Take it easy this month.  Go slowly if the situation calls for it.  Tread lightly if you feel perplexed or overwhelmed.  Do your best to be patient and kind with those around you – for if you don’t feel these things, many others will be.

Bliss and Abundance!!!

Hope Grace Roe 🙂
